DATES: August 29 - September 2, 2011 (in conjunction with 22nd DEXA Conference)
    LOCALE: Toulouse, France

Life sciences and medicine are very data intensive disciplines, and it is a non-trivial task to transform the vast amount of biomedical data into useful information supporting scientific progress and/or patient management. Major challenges for research in the database community include but are not limited to:
    • Data quality, selection and integration
    • Database-supported process management in healthcare
    • Electronic patient record
    • Design of information systems and data warehouses for biological and medical applications
    • Mining biological and medical data: clustering, classification, rule-mining
    • Integrative mining of heterogeneous data types
    • Integration of data mining primitives into biological and medical databases
    • Databases and data mining for systems biology and personalized medicine
    • Biological and medical image processing and retrieval
    • Privacy in data management and data mining
Papers should be submitted in PDF format, with maximum length five (5) pages, following IEEE Conference Publishing Service (CPS) guidelines. Please submit your papers using ConfDriver Conference Management System http://confdriver.ifs.tuwien.ac.at/dexa2011/

    IMPORTANT DATES

    • Submission deadline: May 2, 2011
    • Notification of acceptance: May 23, 2011
    • Camera ready deadline: end of May
All accepted papers of DBLM will be published in combined workshop proceedings by IEEE.
