BACKGROUND
Our focus is the development of national and international database platforms for clinical and biological institutions in the innovative field of molecular biology. In particular the mounds of data from the new technology Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) need to be managed in our new Large Scale Data Facility (LSDF) with a data volume in petabyte scale. We continue to increase our team to accomplish the various requirements in managing and administrating of data.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Management of NGS data for three International Cancer Genome Consortium (ICGC) projects
- Development of scripts for data processing
- Database design and development of models for NGS data
- Design of data models and optimization of data retrieval
- Performing quality checks
- Creation and optimization of workflows
- Development of Java-Web-Applications to manage and display NGS data
PREFERENCES
- Diploma, master degree or Ph.D. in science, preferable Information Technology
- Experience in data management
- Confidence in handling large mounds of data
- Knowledge of Java and J2EE technologies
- Experience in Unix/Linux and Shell scripting
- Knowledge of SQL and database connections
This position is also suited for interested entrants who already have a founded knowledge in the respective fields.TERMS
