    RESPONSIBILITIES

    This individual will develop and build a database with patient clinical, biospecimen, and clinical trial information; and develop an integrative database to manage cancer patient information with high-throughput research data including genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, next and third generation sequence and metabolomics data. You will help analyze large scale biomedical clinical and research data, and collaborate with medical doctors and research scientists at Rush to facilitate personalized medicine through developing an efficient database warehouse.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor or master of science in computer science, bioinformatics, biomedical informatics or related majors
    • Minimum of 1-2 years' demonstrated experience in online database development
    • Familiarity with Oracle, Microsoft and MySQL database management systems
    • Experience developing and maintaining databases in a secure environment with appropriate security documentation
    • Strong programming experience in at least two types of programming languages such as Java, Perl, ASP.net and php.js
    • Ability to work in a cooperative, interactive group setting
    • An understanding of clinical data and high-throughput data analysis such as microarray, proteomics data analysis is desirable, but not required.
