    RESPONSIBILITIES

    The bioinformatics analyst will perform basic and advanced analysis on data produced from Whole Genome Association Studies, next generation sequencing systems and microarray experiments. This position will develop software or use current open source software in conducting data analysis for a next generation sequencing system at basic or advanced level. This position will partner with the director of the Genomics core facility to design experiments in Whole Genome Association Studies and next generation sequencing studies.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • The candidate must have a background in bioinformatics and biostatistics.
    • The candidate must be comfortable working in a Linux environment, have shell scripting experience, software development experience using scripting language and object-oriented programming (Perl, Python, JAVA), and experience with statistical packages (R or Mathlab).

    PREFERENCES

    • Experience with analyzing NGS data (SOLiD and Illumina) is a plus.
