    BACKGROUND

We are a federally-funded, Boston-based, biomedical research organization. Our Biomedical Informatics Team performs research and development to improve the way clinical science and care are conducted. Current initiatives include the development of natural language processing and machine learning technologies, methods of automated clinical quality measurement and improvement, and the development of computational platform for integrative analysis of genomic, biosample and clinical data. The multi-disciplinary team consists of a highly skilled group of PhD researchers, clinicians, systems analysts, project managers, and software developers. Resources include access to the complete medical records of over 18 million records through the world's largest installed electronic medical record system, a new 160 node high performance computing cluster, and access to incredibly challenging projects with the potential to change the way health care is delivered.
