RESPONSIBILITIES

• Works in conjunction with the Medical Cost Management leadership in setting priorities and direction in order to reach the corporate medical cost savings goal
• Communicates analytical findings to Business Analytic Workgroup
• Plans, organizes, directs and controls all activities of Medical cost sizing analytic team.
• Active engagement with leadership to assist in the development of new medical cost improvement opportunities
• Leads the methodology development for all medical cost sizing analysis
• Compiles and analyzes data in order to identify and size medical cost opportunities
• Coordinate follow up trend analysis as needed
• Responsible for budget at the cost center level
• Manages human resources, related processes, including performance management, corrective action, time and attendance and training and development of staff
• Leads/participates in staff meetings, employee meetings, team buildings, etc

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• 6 or more years' experience in financial analysis, medical cost analysis or statistical analysis
• Experience with Excel, SQL or related relational database management system
• Experience with analysis that involves problem solving beyond data mining/report generation
• Ability to communicate and present detailed business and financial information in a clear and concise way
• Ability to participate and lead departmental and cross-functional work efforts
• 3 or more years of management experience and ability to manage and develop staff of 3 or more individuals

PREFERENCES

• 10 or more years of experience in financial/business environment
• Experience with detailed analysis and advanced capabilities in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with medical cost, clinical and provider contracting analysis
• Experience in healthcare insurance or healthcare industry
• Experience with managing or training staff
• SQL Experience
