    BACKGROUND

A Letter of Interest is being requested to submit a proposal for the following described project.

    Project Description:
To create a genetic simulation program, that will work for any diploid plant species to Simulate a variety of genetic and breeding population types, including the flexibility to address novel population types. In addition, the program will simulate natural evolution and artificial selection processes. The primary use of the program will be in gene mapping and marker-assisted breeding across multiple crops and multiple environments, where there may be significant epistasis and gene-by-environment interactions.

This is a lucrative group project and you should have or can assemble and lead a team of 3, 4 or more professionals to work on the project with. Your group must be capable and willing to complete the task described above and deliver the product.

    REQUIREMENTS

Your group must meet ALL of the following criteria:
    • Good knowledge of statistical genetics, population genetics, and computer sciences are required. Experience in plant or animal breeding is highly desirable.
    • Efficient programming skills in C/C++ or Java are required.
    • Programming experience in R statistics is highly desirable.
    • Work experience in computer simulations for statistics, genetics, and/or breeding in plants, animals or humans is required.
    • Track record for publishing a well-known genetic simulation programs or programs that contain a significant portion for genetic simulation is required.

    LOCALE

You can be based anywhere in the world.

    HOW TO APPLY

Those qualified and respond earliest will have a first-mover advantage.

If you meet ALL these requirements and you would like your group to be invited to submit a formal Proposal, please send a Letter of Interest from your group. Please mail your Letter of Interest from your group (give your group name) to inforequest[at]plantbiologypatents.com. Include details of your group's capability and experience in this field, and the group's contacts (contact person, email, phone, address) for contractual purposes if you win the project.

Remember that only Letters of Interest from your group are requested at this stage, NOT Proposals.
