    BACKGROUND

    The successful candidate must evaluate and manage software development in line with project requirements; coordinate the large-scale datasets from the genotyping center, to data management, to data analysis, to data deposit; organize team resources; coordinate a group of interdisciplinary researchers; have experience working in a UNIX/Linux environment; have bioinformatics experience in the medical or other life sciences industries. This job will be filled as a level 3 or level 4, depending upon the successful candidate's education and experience.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    The lab of Dr. Marylyn Ritchie is looking for a Project Manager to serve as a point person in a number of large scale genomic studies and methodology development projects. The lab is developing algorithms and software packages encapsulating new statistical methods. This software will be experimental in nature and will require rigorous attention to detail and the ability to manage all phases of software development lifecycle. In addition, these software packages are being used in conjunction with several large-scale human genomic studies.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 3. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs.

    TERMS

    This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
