    BACKGROUND

    We are seeking a bioinformatics scientist to join an experienced team of bioinformaticians, programmers and molecular biology scientists at Life Science Product Development. The team is working to develop molecular kits and tools for the life science research field, in particular for detection and functional analysis of miRNAs.

    As a bioinformatician at Exiqon you will have a central role in the development of products within new and exciting life science research fields.     RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Development of new oligonucleotide based research products within the field of RNA research, in particular qPCR, microArray and in situ products
    • Maintenance of in-house bioinformatics databases
    • Support of existing products with information from internal and external bioinformatics databases
    • Development and support of data design and analysis pipelines

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Have a Ph.D. in bioinformatics, biology, computer science or an equivalent education
    • Have a proficiency in computational biology and molecular biology
    • Have experience with analysis of large datasets preferably with R
    • Adept in scripting languages (Ruby or similar) and relational databases (PostgreSQL or similar)
    • Working knowledge of Linux
    • A positive mindset, a sense of humor and a level of energy that enable you to contribute to our organization with more than your professionalism
    • Have excellent English oral and written communication skills
