The company has developed innovative technology platforms for discovering novel tumor antigens and cancer antibodies and is supported by world-renowned scientific experts and advisors. Igenica has long term funding, and is currently expanding its research and development operations. Igenica is based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

We have an immediate opening for the following position.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated bioinformatics researcher to spearhead our core efforts in identifying and characterizing novel cancer antigens and therapeutic antibody targets. A primary role for the successful candidate will involve the development and implementation of bioinformatics strategies, appropriate biostatistical treatments, and software tools to facilitate maximal information extraction from datasets generated by Igenica's target discovery platform. The successful candidate will assume a high degree of responsibility in deploying sophisticated analytics to effectively mine the platform outputs, including data from high-resolution, shotgun mass spectrometry, and for integrating and maintaining the resulting profiles. Additional responsibilities will include providing technical assistance on computer systems and networks, and in facilitating the evolution of in-house database architectures either through independent manipulation of existing code, or by interfacing with specialized computational consultants as needed.

    REQUIREMENTS

The position requires a Ph.D. or MS in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, or equivalent degree, ideally with several years of relevant experience. Familiarity with public databases such as UniProt and GO and knowledge of analytical tools suitable for proteomic (e.g. mass spectrometric) data mining are considered highly desirable assets. Competence with R, Python, C++ or other similar programming languages is also deemed a plus. The successful candidate should also be able to work independently, and possess effective communication and organizational skills.
