    RESPONSIBILITIES

    As a member of the client's Research IT team, provide technical and scientific partnership with scientists in discovery chemistry and biology research. Collaborate with scientists to support existing applications and methods, and assess and identify new opportunities for data management and utilization to further drug discovery and development efforts. Administer enterprise applications supporting these objectives, ensuring they are running efficiently and are highly available. Provide seamless customer services, such as user training and helpdesk support, to scientific clients. Interaction with scientist on a daily basis is required. Assist in preparing SOP's and user guides.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Education: BS Biology or Chemistry related field with approx 5 years related experience, or equivalent; otherwise, MS/PhD in Biology or Chemistry related field with 3 years related experience, or equivalent.
    • Knowledge of Drug Discovery process with practical laboratory experience, such as in cellular assay, in vivo, translational medicine or chemistry areas
    • Proven strong business requirement analysis/workflow mapping skills
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Enjoy learning about the science and working with scientist
    • Solid documentation and presentation skills
    • Self-motivated, proactive and a team player

    PREFERENCES

    • Preferred application skills (for Biology): ActivityBase, Aperio, Study director, Deep Sequencing, Pipeline Pilot
    • Preferred application skills (for Chemistry): eLN, Chemdraw, Symyx applications, SD file manipulation, Chemical Reagent Inventory
    • Programming/Scripting skills: ASP.NET, VB.NET, JAVA, SQL, VBA, Unix/Shell Scripting, JavaScript, AJAX, VBA
    • Familiarity with Oracle databases or SQL
