    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Provide programming support for Scientific Applications at Novartis Institute for Biomedical Research (NIBR). The following is a partial list of the responsibilities:
    • Participate in scientific application implementation project
    • Create application prototypes in short cycles
    • Provide bug fixes and enhancement to existing scientific applications
    • Communication with project team members
    • Provide appropriate documentation for software development and support

    REQUIREMENTS

    • B.S. in Biology, Chemistry, or Computer Science
    • At least 5 years of programming experience in Java
    • AJAX
    • web programming/technologies
    • jsoln
    • Hibernate
    • Resteasy
    • JBOSS
    • Hudson (Jenkins)
    • At least 3+ years web/front-end development
    • An understanding of object-oriented JavaScript, JSON, AJAX, Jquery and CSS
    • A thorough understanding of cross-browser/cross-platform web development
    • Experience in Agile/Scrum development
    • Keeping track of all the latest technologies and be able to apply/recommend as needed
    • Good understanding and knowledge of scientific drug discovery processes, bioinformatics experience preferred
