    BACKGROUND

    One bioinformatician/biostatistician position is available in the Bioinformatics laboratory in the department of Molecular Biology, Cell Biology and Biochemistry at Brown University, Providence RI. The position is responsible for the development and maintenance of analysis pipelines for high-throughput datasets comprising expression/tiled microarrays and sequencing data, along with database management of the data and genomic annotation information. This position requires independent thinking and independent performance.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • BA degree in bioinformatics/computational biology or equivalent experience
    • 2-4 years experience preferably in bioinformatics with high-throughput genomic datasets
    • Prior demonstrated experience programming in C/C++, Matlab, R, Python, Java, SQL. Experience with Linux/Unix environments a plus.
    • Excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills
    • Able to prioritize and be a self-starter
