BACKGROUND

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, located in Memphis, Tennessee, is a premier center for research and treatment of potentially fatal childhood diseases, including cancer and certain blood, genetic, and immunodeficiency disorders. The hospital's mission is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. St. Jude is dedicated to providing unsurpassed patient care and to advancing the health of children through biomedical research.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Currently, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital has an opening for a Systems Engineer (Job Number 30066).

The Systems Engineer will provide desktop/laptop support duties including: configuring PCs and responding to software and hardware problems relating to the maintenance of the Biostatistics Department's desktop systems, and provide backup support for Biostatistics network maintenance and functioning. Will assist in providing network backup and recovery procedures. Provides technical end user hardware and software support and training. Participates in new desktop product evaluations. May require extended hours if situation requires.

REQUIREMENTS

Master's degree in computer engineering or a related information technology field required.
Minimum one year experience in the use of microcomputers and network systems.
Experience in the use of large statistical and database management software packages preferred.
Experience gained through formal education may be considered.
