We are looking for a Statistical Geneticist who will be responsible for the development and execution of genetics related scientific research and development strategies.- Perform statistical analyses, interpret statistical results, and help prepare genetic study reports including summaries for FDA submissions
- Provide statistical expertise in design and power calculations for human genetic studies
- Participate in the development of study protocols including experimental designs, sample size determinations, coding specifications, data collection and entry rules to ensure all relevant data necessary for the studies are captured
- Conduct data mining over internally produced and publicly available data sets
- Analyze and provide information to management to aid in decision making on the development of new products
- Interact with key internal and external scientific leaders and collaborators
REQUIREMENTS
- PHD in Statistical Genetics/Biostatistics/Computational Biology/Bioinformatics or related field
- Minimum of 8-12 years related experience in the statistical analysis of biological data
- Experience with Laboratory Developed Tests (LDT) and/or In-vitro Diagnostics (IVD) highly desirable
- Experience with research in the area of statistical genetics, genetic epidemiology, computational biology, or bioinformatics
- Proficient in biological sequence analysis and analysis of next-generation sequencing data
- Proven relevant research expertise in areas such as: genetic association studies, linkage studies, genetics of gene expression or eQTL analysis, pharmacogenetics or clinical data analysis, or the analysis of next-generation sequencing data
- Additional expertise may be desired in data mining, biological pathway analysis, predictive modeling, disease target identification
- Working knowledge of one of the following high level programming languages: R/S-PLUS (preferred), Matlab, or SAS
- Programming experience in Java, Python or Perl and experience with databases and SQL highly desirable
- Excellent publication record
