    Opportunity: Research Scientist and BIOINFORMATICIANS at Senior levels @ KAIMRC, NGHA--Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

    BACKGROUND

    Located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, King Abdullah International Medical Research Center (KAIMRC) is aiming to be a leading international medical research institution that acquires, manages, and executes academically relevant and economically sound biomedical research programs.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    We are seeking research scientists and bioinformaticians in the area of Bioinformatics/Computational Biology at senior levels to establish a Bioinformatics Core facility at KAIMRC. The successful candidates will be responsible for establishing research thrusts in developing methodologies and tools for Biological Sequence Analysis, Gene Expression Analysis, Functional Analysis, Systems Biology, Biocuration and other relevant areas of biomedical research.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • PhD or Masters (with over 10 years experience) in Bioinformatics/Computational Biology/Systems Biology or related fields
    • A good publication record for senior scientists positions

    PREFERENCES

    • Experience in applied Bioinformatics in a medical research environment
    • Experience in using Bioinformatics tools and resources
    • Experience with high performance computing in command line/Linux environment
    • Experience in using statistical methodologies
    • The candidate should be fluent in one or more programming languages that include Perl or other dynamic programming languages, Java, C++, R, SQL, or Matlab
    • Skills in Data mining or Patten recognition
    • Good data visualization skills
    • Experience in Data Mining, Biocuration, Mathematical Biology, Computational Modeling
    • Experience in developing biological databases
    • Ability to multitask and work independently to meet deadlines
    • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
    • Exceptional communication and presentation skills

    TERMS

    Full Time permanent contract, renewable annually

    LOCALE

    Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the Middle East

    COMPENSATION

    Competitive salary and benefits (accommodation, transport, medical, etc) commensurate with qualification and experience - Negotiable
