    RESPONSIBILITIES

    The successful candidate will join the Biological Systems Research Unit of Philip Morris Products S.A. in Neuchatel, Switzerland. He/she will lead the Genomics and Transcriptomics Research laboratory responsible for the generation of Systems Biology data using a wide range of approaches, including high throughput methods such as GeneChips and Next-Generation Sequening.

    Specifically, you will:
    • Direct a team of laboratory technicians with expertise in nucleic acids research including transcriptomics and sequencing.
    • Establish and operate measurement platforms for nucleic acids such as qRT-PCR, Affymetrix, RNA-Seq, etc.
    • Ensure optimal design of experimental plans
    • Ensure that molecular biology studies are achieved on time and on budget
    • Lead the execution of experiments and the production of Systems Biology
    • Ensure data quality and experimental excellence
    • Ensure that the team is using state of the art technologies
    • Work in close collaboration within the Centre of Expertise in Genomics and the Genome Research group

    REQUIREMENTS

    • PhD in life sciences
    • Experience with Next-Generation Sequencing technology
    • Five to ten years experience in laboratory-based research
    • Demonstrated leadership of scientific teams
    • Track record of scientific achievements
    • Fluency in spoken and written English
    A valid Swiss work permit or Swiss or EU-25/EFTA citizenship is required for this position.
