We're seeking a strong collaborator and communicator with a Master's degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Bioinformatics, Genetics or a related field (PhD preferred). Preference will be given to those with experience in development and deployment of bioinformatic pipelines for Sequencing analysis.RESPONSIBILITIES
You will be working in the Genomics core as a part of an integrated of a team of wet lab and informatic scientists. Your main responsibility will be to manipulate large datasets from microarray and sequencing data and perform tests to determine biological significance. This is a very dynamic and independent position where you will basic analysis tools to determine things like genetic linkage, gene expression profiles, and molecular classifiers from data generated from microarrays, qPCR data, and Next Gen Sequencing. One of your main responsibilities will be to continually research and develop new pipelines for filtering and analyzing these large datasets especially for new Next Generation Sequencing applications. You will also assist the Core Directors personal research or collaborative lead research, which may include some basic molecular tasks specific to the research projects in addition to custom analysis. You will also be responsible educating basic bioinformatics workflows to customers.REQUIREMENTS
We're seeking a strong collaborator and communicator with a Master's degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Bioinformatics, Genetics or a related field (PhD preferred). Preference will be given to those with experience in development and deployment of bioinformatic pipelines for Sequencing analysis.The position does require expertise in correlating molecular and clinical measures, and in applying algorithms for classifying samples by molecular and statistical measures. Knowledge of one scripting language (Perl, python, Java), Unix/Linux Programming, SGE, R/Bioconductor and all major publicly annotated databases (Ensembl, NCBI, UCSC, etc.) is required.
