RESPONSIBILITIES
Our client's Desktop Support Services (DSS), group seeks to hire a fulltime long term consultant to work onsite in Cambridge, MA. This group focuses on providing Tier III support to its end user community which includes research scientists, attorneys, architects and other support/administrative functions (finance, human resources, security).
Key functions of the team are to:
Resolve Complex Support Issues -- Triage issues reported to the Service Desk.
- Communicate with end users throughout the support process.
- Work with other teams within client to resolve end user issues, as required.
- Document solutions for future re-use.
- Build and configure machines for new hires and replacements for existing users.
- Use asset management tools to track all hardware that is deployed and recovered.
- Use imaging software on machines before redeploying to different users.
REQUIREMENTS
Key Capabilities and Experience:- Completed or Enrolled in Computer Science or MIS degree program or equivalent
- Excellent communication and cross-group collaboration skills
- Candidate will demonstrate strong collaboration skills, effective communication skills, and creative problem-solving abilities
- Advance knowledge in Microsoft Windows XP, Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2007 required
- Intermediate to advance knowledge in creating Microsoft SharePoint websites desired
- Familiarity with one coding or scripting language (Visual Basic, Java, C#, vbscript, batch commands) a plus
- MCP or A+ certification a plus
