    Program Description:
    The Cancer BioInformatics Grid (caBIG) is an information initiative of the National Cancer Institute Center for Biomedical Informatics and Information Technology (NCI CBIIT).

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Job Description:
    Will manage multiple Vocabulary Cancer Research projects in support of the Cancer Biomedical Informatics Program. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing multiple projects from inception to delivery that will deliver open source software products in the ontology for genomics and computational biology in multiple settings, standards harmonization, coding, and/or semantic metadata modeling. Will be responsible for managing the knowledge center and for liaison activities within the enterprise. Close coordination with NCI CBIIT personnel will be required. Facilitation and coordination with other workspaces will be required as well.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Possession of a Master's from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Care Informatics or related field or six (6) years of related experience required. Foreign degrees must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency.
    • In addition to educational requirements, a minimum of five (5) years job related experience in project management in clinical informatics, biomedical informatics, natural language processing, semantic infrastructure, ontology, or serving as the Project Manager on large scale projects developing distributed software tools or technology for Federal or Commercial customers involved in genomics and computational biology.
    • Must be able to communicate clearly with all levels of scientific personnel and administrative staff through written and oral presentations.
    • The candidate must demonstrate success in previous positions in deployment and implementation process.
    • Show evidence of both independent thought and leadership and have experience in working in a highly integrated, multi-disciplinary environment.
    • This position is subject to obtaining a Public Trust Clearance.

    PREFERENCES

    • Experience in HL7, CDISC, ISO standards 11179 and 21090, as well as experience with state of the art service oriented architectures and other healthcare standards
    • Experience in implementing and/or using a continuous risk assessment methodology
    • Experience defining and performing quality assurance procedures during the full project management life cycle
    • Experience in managing the development and deployment of systems that are subject to regulatory requirements in the clinical domain, including those that are subject to 21 CFR Part 11, HIPAA, FISMA, Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, and OMB Memorandum M-06-16
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
