    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Your varied tasks:
    In the field of computational biology you are responsible for the in-silico support of drug development projects using genetic and genomic biomarkers.

    This includes:
    • Provision of scientific computational biology input and biological expertise into clinical projects in close interaction with interdisciplinary teams of Research, Development and Medicine
    • Application of sophisticated computational biology tools/databases to analyze complex biological data as well as large scale multi-omics data, e.g. from microarrays, next generation sequencing etc.
    • Support of development, implementation and use of software tools, databases and technologies in a global environment
    • Collaboration scientifically and operationally with external partners, contract research organisations (CROs), academic institutions, consortia
    • Contribution to project and process documentation, clinical development plans and regulatory authority submission documents

    REQUIREMENTS

    Your qualification:
    You hold a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics or a related Life Sciences degree combined with proven experience in the field of Computational Biology, Bioinformatics and Molecular Biology.

    You provide:
    • In-depth knowledge of state of the art bioinformatics data sources and tools
    • Profound knowledge of biological mechanisms and application of computational biology methods to impact drug discovery and development
    • Demonstrated skills to programmatically collect, combine, mine and analyze complex biological data
    • Understanding of the analysis of pharmacogenetic/genomic data and large scale data sets such as transcriptomics, GWAS and DNA sequencing, including NGS
    • Demonstrated understanding of statistics and quantitative data analysis
    Personally, you are characterized by your motivated, cooperative and independent way of working as well as by strong organizational and communication skills. You work effectively within a variety of situations, handle multiple projects simultaneously and complete tasks within the relevant timelines.

    The international nature of the task requires excellent English – both spoken and written.
