    BACKGROUND

    The bioinformatics lab at School of Computing, Clemson University is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate in the areas of machine learning, statistics and bioinformatics. The major researches are focused on developing new algorithms and methodologies to analyze next-generation sequencing data. The bioinformatics lab will collaborate with researcher from USDA to study the huanglongbin resistance related genes in citrus using next-generation sequence technology.

    REQUIREMENTS

    The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in computer science, bioinformatics or statistics; proven experiences in analyze next-generation sequencing data is preferred; ability to effectively working individually and as part of a team; strong background in machine learning, algorithm and statistics; proficiency in programming using languages as C++, java, R or Matlab. Good communication and writing skill in English is a plus.

    TERMS

    Up to 3-year contract depending upon performance.

    COMPENSATION

    Competitive salary commensurate with the applicant's level of experience.
