    RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will further develop a method (EPPIC, Evolutionary Protein Protein Interface Classifier) that we have created for computationally distinguishing biologically relevant interfaces from lattice contacts in macromolecular crystal structures. The candidate is expected to explore novel aspects of the method in order to improve its applicability and usefulness for the structural biology community. This will involve implementing new approaches at the algorithmic level, extending the current software and exploring novel applications. The position is based at the PSI Biomolecular Research Laboratory, which is equipped with state-of-the-art computing and experimental facilities and provides a vibrant scientific environment in structural biology with many opportunities for interaction with experimental researchers.
