Senior Bioinformatics Scientist

My client company is looking for a person to help with the development and
application of advanced methods in bioinformatics and computational biology
in the emerging field of tissue informatics.

This positions main responsibilities require designing and guiding the team
with reference to statistical methods, algorithms, and project guidance to
create links between genomic and tissue morphometrical data.

This position requires the following:
Assisting in the analysis and interpretation of biochip data.

Acting as a critical company resource to develop new data mining tools &
statistical applications in life sciences.

Developing new methods to combine/correlate genomics and proteomics data
with tissue histomorphometry.

Leading the identification of mechanisms of disease or drug action at the
molecular level.
Assisting in the acceleration of product development from a bioinformatics
perspective.

Providing scientific guidance for the publication of scientific results and
the development and filing of patent applications to protect company
discoveries.

Requirements
PhD in Life Sciences
Demonstrated experience in exploratory biostatistics
Demonstrated experience in bioinformatics, preferably genomics & proteomics
Broad biological knowledge and understanding of disease mechanisms and
pathways
Demonstrated experience and high proficiency in statistical data analysis
tools
Excellent communication skills

It also would be helpful if you have experience in the following:
Research experience in one or more of the areas of diabetes, obesity,
cancer, immunology, or toxicology
