BACKGROUND
Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is a leading medical research and teaching hospital consistently ranking among the top 5 pediatric hospitals in the nation. The Division of Biomedical Informatics (BMI) at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) is searching for a Director to lead and manage service groups that operate the IT infrastructure and provide core informatics services to faculty and research programs of CCHMC. The individual would be responsible for ensuring timely and successful execution of projects, implementation and refinement of customer service standards, compliance with CCHMC policies and procedures, and ongoing mentoring and development of employees.
They would be responsible, in collaboration with BMI faculty leads, for establishing project priorities and developing standard operating policies and procedures for research IT services. They would be expected to work closely and collegially with staff of Information Services (IS) to assure optimal cooperation between BMI and IS in addressing institutional needs. The position reports directly to Dr. John Hutton, Division Director, Biomedical Informatics.REQUIREMENTS
Education & Work Experience:- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a closely related field
- 7 years' progressive responsibility and experience in a medium to large computing environment, including managing and leading large projects
- 5 years' experience leading and directing the work of others
- 2 years' experience in management of health information
PREFERENCES
Education & Work Experience:- Master's degree in computer science or a closely related field
- Experience within a complex research oriented health care organization
- Experience with emerging database technologies, languages, and Web platforms including Mobile.
- Project Management certification
- Experience handling large biomedical datasets
- Basic knowledge of biomedicine and associated terminology
- Publications on related topics
