Nebraska Center for Virology in University of Nebraska-Lincoln, USA has a new bioinformatics position open. We will need to fill this position ASAP. RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide support to NCV faculty in the area of bioinformatics. Duties include data management and data analysis using bioinformatics software, development and implementation of new algorithms for analyzing next generation sequencing and microarray data. The type of analysis includes metagenomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and other computational task as needed by researchers. Responsibilities include interactions with faculty, post-doctoral associates, and students and lab personnel regarding methods, testing, and analysis of data.REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in bioinformatics or computer science plus experience in conducting data analysis using bioinformatics tools and programming using Python, Perl, or C/C++ are required. Working in Linux server and cluster environment is essential.PREFERENCES
Statistics background and web programming with HTML and JavaScript are big plus. Master's degree in bioinformatics or computer science is preferred. Virology or Biology background is desirable.HOW TO APPLY
