RESPONSIBILITIES
The Software Engineering team is currently seeking a member to maintain and support existing J2EE/Java based applications.
Responsibilities include:
- Work with technical leads to understand and develop use cases.
- Troubleshoot existing use cases, and communicate with users about enhancements.
- Work with laboratory users on a regular basis to understand their software needs.
- Identify new technology, and evaluating the uses of these new technologies for the Genome Center.
- Develop web solutions using the below Technology environment.
- Programmatically interfacing with robots.
- Demonstrate to users the use of existing and new use cases.
- Train of user base.
- Create technical documentation.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related programming field, or Bachelor's degree in a natural science.
Minimum Job Experience Required: Five+ years experience in software development.
- Participates in requirements elicitation, design, development and creation of unit tests
- Ability to program one of the following: Java, Ruby, Javascript, Objective-C, or an Object oriented language
- Understanding of an agile development methodology
- Ability to be a generalist/"jack of all trades"
- Willingness to learn and be a team player
- Good interpersonal skills and experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Excellent communication skills
