BACKGROUND
Dr. Chaolin Zhang laboratory at Columbia University Medical Center is seeking Postdoctoral fellows to conduct NIH-funded studies of RNA regulatory circuitry in the mammalian nervous system. The Zhang laboratory is a newly formed lab in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics (BMB), the Columbia Initiative in Systems Biology (CISB), the Center for Motor Neuron Biology and Disease (MNC), and the Columbia Stem Cell Initiative (CSCI). Using a combination of biochemistry, molecular biology, and high-throughput quantitative and integrative approaches, the Zhang Laboratory studies how proteins and RNA interact to form regulatory networks in the nervous system at the mechanistic and systems level. These networks are increasingly shown to be essential to understand the mammalian complexity manifested in evolutionary-developmental (evo-devo) processes and in neuronal disorders. More information about the Zhang laboratory can be found at http://zhanglab.c2b2.columbia.edu.REQUIREMENTS
