Position Title: Product Developer II
Department: SYBYL/UNITY Development
Supervisor: SYBYL/UNITY Development Manager
Responsibilities: Performs design, implementation, and maintenance of multiple product modules and subsystems; prepares technical documentation of product subsystems; conducts the unit testing and integration testing for functionality and limits; researches problems discovered by Quality Assurance and develops solutions to the problems; participates in product requirement and design meetings with senior team members and takes a leadership role when needed.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Five years of experience using UNIX, C, and Shell programming
- BS in Computer Science or related field
- Broad technical knowledge in software development methodologies, design, and implementation
- Excellent analytical skills and problem solving skills at product level
- Effective skills in research and analysis, project planning, and implementation
- Strong understanding of entire development process, including specification, documentation, and quality assurance
- Must possess excellent communication skills and be self-motivating
- Experience in scientific computing is desired
- Knowledge of PYTHON and C++ is helpful
- Knowledge of chemistry, physics, and/or biology is a plus

The primary responsibility of this position will be to research and prototype algorithms and tools to accelerate antibody and small molecule drug discovery and development. This is an opportunity to work in an exciting and focused group of computer and computational scientists with diverse backgrounds interacting with biologists, chemists, and preclinical scientists.
Initial focus of the job will be upon the interpretation of proteomic data
Leverage medicinal chemistry, preclinical, genomics, proteomics, and diagnostics platforms to define, initiate, and execute Informatics research and development projects which accelerate the drug discovery process
Collaborate with lab and bench scientists to develop analytical approaches and identify opportunities for application of Informatics capabilities
Maintain a competitive understanding of best practices, algorithms, and methods in the community
Requirements:
- MS/PhD computer/computational sciences or equivalent experience
- Biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience a definite plus
- Demonstrated ability in chemistry, computer science, physics, mathematics, and/or statistics Experience with genomic and proteomic informatics techniques
- Familiarity with the nature and analysis of biological data
- Fluency in the use of biological databases
- Experience with numerical simulations, optimization algorithms, and graph theory
- Experience with machine learning, classification, data mining, and Bayesian analysis techniques
- Advanced programming skills in C/C++, Java and Perl preferred
- Domain knowledge and experience in building algorithms for docking, binding energy prediction, pharmacophore models, SAR, metabolism and toxicity prediction will be a definite plus
- Strong collaboration and communication skills are required
- Strong desire to work in an R&D environment with a focus upon rapid application development

Candidate will lead a team responsible (initially 5-10 people) for design and development of analysis pipeline components that process and interpret biological data to generate value added content
The preferred candidate will have a practical customer focus and work as a team player to improve processes by integrating cutting-edge advances into content production pipelines. Some travel required.
Pipeline Bioinformatics team:
- Generates production pipelines that are passed to the production team in Content Services
- Analyzes production content to support QA and Marketing activities
- Works with the Content Services Department to ensure that computational pipelines fit within the overall design and database architecture for content manufacturing
- Develops pipelines that meet Content Services requirements for operational and production stability and scalability with hand-offs of pipeline components to production team
- Works with the Science team to convert manual processes into computational processes where feasible and the encapsulate learning from curation activities in pipeline code
- Works with wet-lab teams to integrate proprietary content into pipeline processes and provide preliminary and early access content to internal teams
- Minimum 5 years experience developing useful bioinformatics tools that generate, integrate and process content
- Broad knowledge of commercial and publicly available algorithms and sequence analysis
- Broad knowledge of public and private sources of bioinformatics content
- Broad knowledge of current bioinformatics technology and trends
- Knowledge of Java, Perl, C/C++, SQL, ORACLE PL/SQL programming languages
- Knowledge of popular bioinformatics tools e.g. SRS, BioPerl, BioJava
- Ability to provide technical leadership to a cross-functional team of scientists and software engineers

Hai, i am having and Agriculture and computers background and i am currently enrolled for computational biosciences program. I want to know what scope do i have after completion of this course.
