Opportunity: Ph. D. Studentship at the University of Southern Mississippi--Hattiesburg, MS (US)

DESCRIPTION:
We are continuing to recruit several Ph. D. students in bioinformatics, computational biology in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Southern Mississippi. The bioinformatics and computational biology students will focus on understanding fundamental biological problems and human diseases by integrative data mining of genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics and metabolomics data, as well as developing novel tools and managing new data resources.
REQUIREMENTS:
The qualified applicants should hold a Bachelor�s or Master�s degree in any biology and/ or computer/statistics related majors. For the bioinformatics and computational biology program, students with both biology and computer/statistics related backgrounds are preferred, but not required. Tuition will be fully waived and a competitive stipend will be offered.
LOCALE
The university is located in Hattiesburg which was recently chosen as one of five cities listed as "Best Small Metro Areas."
