PhD studenship in Bioinformatics
funded by the Medical Research Council
A PhD studentship in the area of novel computational techniques for hypertension gene funding and functional analysis is available. The student will work closely with Prof Anna Dominiczak and Ela Hunt. Prior biological knowledge is not a prerequisite, however the desire to learn about medical research techniques, and the ability to work as part of a team is needed. The student will develop new database, information integration, algorithmic, and visualisation techniques needed in the search for genes currently causing millions of people to die or suffer disablity. Attractive funding is available to UK residents only.
