    ``The database of BioInformatics Software tools (BISR) is a depository of software and tools. The database will hold and distribute source code for software tools which may be used to solve problems in bioinformatics and computational biology. Test data and documentation will also be included if available. It will maintain a keyword searchable interface to allow users to find the specific tools they need. Searches are made on results of human editors searching the web to give better results. Initially BISR will provide links to other web sites with complete packages. As authors deposit source code, tools, documentation, and test data, BISR will become the source for these data as well.''

Have you noticed the abnormally significant number of bids let out to sole source at the NIST in recent months, if not years? That seems to be one big, big gravy train, good 'ol boy network. But, what do I know? Just a thought. Tom
