    BioReaktor 0.1 released
Submitted by Yves Sucaet; posted on Friday, December 06, 2002 (1 comment)

BioReaktor 0.1 is a program written for the DotNet runtime in reaction to a previous post:
    http://bioinformatics.org/forum/forum.php?forum_id=1230

A Java port is on the way, nevertheless.

BioReaktor wants to offer a learning environment for students to study metabolism. In a matrix, you can specify how many intermediates to start with, on which enzymes you want to have at their disposal. Then you can specify which reactions can take place between the intermediates and the enzymes. Running the simulation means that you see the intermediates transform into new intermediates, if they're close enough to the required enzymes.

The program can be downloaded from the following sites:

    http://www12.brinkster.com/bioreaktor/default.htm

[Ed: BioReaktor is distributed as freeware, without a license. Source code is presently unavailable.]
