DESCRIPTION
Two Ph.D. positions in bioinformatics/machine learning are available starting in October 2005 in the Computer Science Department (soon to be School of Computer Science and Informatics), at University College Dublin, Ireland, under the supervision of Dr. Gianluca Pollastri. The positions are fully funded for 3 years by Science Foundation Ireland, for research on protein structure prediction and modelling of protein folding mechanisms.REQUIREMENTS
Ideal Candidates should hold an Honours Degree or M.Sc. in a scientific/technical discipline, have solid knowledge of the fundamental elements of computer science and previous programming experience.
Funding covers competitive tax-exempt scholarships, full fee remission, and a travel allowance.
