Motorola Life Sciences Tempe AZ.Design, develop, & implement software applications to deliver bioinformatics solutions for Motorola Life Sciences. Software development environment will be a mixture of Perl and languages such as C, C++, and Java. Responsible for all phases of projects, including requirements, design, code, test, and final integration. Must have strong skills in BIOINFORMATICS/COMPUTATIONAL BIOLOGY, with a minimum of 2 yrs. experience in developing related software. BS degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent. MS/Ph.D. or equivalent experience in scientific discipline preferred. Higher or lower job classification may be considered based on job qualifications. Experience with Unix, Perl, C and Java. Experience with web development, including Perl, CGI, JavaScript, and HTML. Experience with relational databases (Oracle preferred) and SQL. Experience with developing data mining software a plus. Strong communication/organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks. Must be a self-starter, independent worker, & possess follow-through skills in handling routine and non-routine interactions. Project management experience a plus.
