A little update

Ok, so Life, the Universe, and Finals have kept me from updating for some time now--- but I'm back and I've been thinking about how one goes about doing this sort of thing. Since nobody can read my mind (I think :-)), I popped it all into a "brainstorm" file that is linked on the homepage. Comments are, of course, greatly appreciated.
Welcome to the Open LIMS project

Hello, I'd like to introduce the Open LIMS project--- a project aimed at bettering the links between wet lab aspects of biology and the computational/bioinformatics aspects of biology. With more and more high throughput experimentation going on, organizing the data generated by experiments becomes more and more important (this is even true for purely computational labs who may receive datasets from outside collaborators).

With this project our goal is construct an open source LIMS built entirely upon readily available software and protocols with as little platform dependency as possible, and a sound security model.
