I've become interested in bioinformatics during my studies of biology and genetics in Göttingen, Germany in 1996. My primary interest those days was bioinformatics for protein structure. I then did a PhD in bioinformatics at Cancer Research UK, London in Biomelecular Modelling, then oriented towards microarray analysis and data mining and finally ended up in toxicogenomics in industry at the borders of Switzerland.
