    Summary:
Table canvas exports fields in double quotes
    Original submission:
The Table canvas exports tsv or csv files, enclosing all fields in double quotes. I consider this a bug. While it is true that some spreadsheets will do that, I don't think there is a need for it. The big problem is that the Table canvas does not know how to read fields enclosed in quotes.

Since there are already field separators to separate fields, it seems redundant, and unnecessarily complex, to also use quotes. Having said that, do the authors of spreadsheet programs to make it easier to identify things like numbers or formulas? Again, the protocol seems to be to preceed those with characters eg. = , so I'm not sure that we actually gain anything by quoting fields.

We should probably eliminate the quoting of fields.

For the time being, the work around is to include a tr statement in the shell command to filter out all double quote characters. This is is not perfect, since there conceivably might be fields containing double quote characters.

This workaround has been implemented in blnfetch, blpfetch, blmarker and blncbi Extract functions.
