The Department of Bioinformatics at Alagappa University has been formed in the year 2008 to facilitate collaborative research in the interdisciplinary area of Structural Bioinformatics and computational Genomics and to create an intellectual environment for interdisciplinary education and training. Department is offering M.Sc degree in Bioinformatics and also Ph. D in Bioinformatics. The Department is comprised of the faculty with research interests in Structural Bioinformatics, Molecular modeling and Computer Aided Drug Designing, Pharmacoinformatics, Chemoinformatics, and Genomics and Proteomics.
