Biography

Damian Counsell
|
Damian Counsell was a Bioinformatics Specialist at the MRC\'s Human Genome Mapping Project Resource Centre. He did Physiological Sciences at Oxford before working in the University as a Research Assistant.
After an MSc in \"Physical Science and Engineering in Medicine" at Imperial College, London, he briefly worked in online scientific publishing, then did bioinformatics at the Institute of Cancer Research.

Gary Van Domselaar

Gary is a founding member, Vice President, and Associate Director of Bioinformatics.Org. He received his PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Alberta under Prof. David Wishart. Gary now works as the Head of Bioinformatics at Canada's National Microbiology Laboratory and is also an Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Manitoba.

Jeff is the founder and president of Bioinformatics.Org. His interests include structural and evolutionary bioinformatics, data visualization and user interfaces, plus advocating open access in science. He has an M.Sc. in Chemistry (biochemistry concentration) from Boston College and a B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Massachusetts Lowell.

Martin Kucej is a PostDoc Fellow at the Department of Molecular Biology, Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, Texas. His scientific interests include cancer biology, cell cycle and mitochondrial biogenesis. He is the founder of BioBanner.org portal and the author of I, Librarian software.

Mr. Sniggles

Born in 1998, Mr. Sniggles makes his nest inside of the Bioinformatics.org Web server. His favorite hobby is chewing on the wires. Seen here in the photo, Mr. Sniggles gets his daily injection of caffeine so that he can stay up all night helping with systems administration.
