graduated in Electronics and Telecommunications Eng. at IST, Lisboa. He works in Bioinformatics since 1990. He established a user community in Portugal, as the portuguese node of EMBnet. In 1998 he created the GTPB Programme, providing training to more then 1000 course attendees so far. In 2002 he designed a Masters Programme in Bioinformatics, PGBIOINF. In 2006 he launched a new national service based on a HPC patform. He teaches Bioinformatics in graduate and undergraduate programmes.
